The 'FairCarbon' (carbon) exploratory PEPR

The 'FairCarbon' (carbon) exploratory PEPR studies the carbon cycle with the aim of identifying ecological, agronomic and socio-economic levers and trajectory scenarios to reach carbon neutrality and restore natural resources within continental ecosystems. This programme provides support for the implementation of these scenarios locally and nationally and also provides the scientific community with numerical models that have been tested and approved using open data sets.

This programme is structured to include a call for projects open to the whole community aimed at driving significant progress in our understanding of the key processes governing the carbon cycle. It will also involve targeted projects including the creation of an unprecedented database on the evolution of carbon stocks in soils and plant biomasses, the development of a multi-agent modelling platform and providing support for existing research facilities and infrastructures.
